Captain | Rafe Palladino – American, 48 
  
WORK EXPERIENCE: Rafe was born in Long Island, New York and raised in Sarasota, Florida.  In college, Rafe worked as a sailing instructor during the school year and as a yachting deckhand during summer vacations.  Eventually, he sailed as a cadet in the US Merchant Shipping Fleet.  This experience provided him with the necessary sea time to obtain his Third Mate Unlimited License and serve as an officer on a handful of large yachts and commercial ships. In the mid-1990s, after rising through the ranks in the commercial side and earning the Navigation Officer ranking, Rafe decided to focus on a career in yachting exclusively.  Since then, Rafe has captained several yachts, consistently receiving excellent reviews from owners, guests, and charterers. Rafe is experienced in all aspects in yacht operation, management, and oversight. Over the course of his career as captain, Rafe has overseen the design, construction, and refit of several yachts. His warm personality and yachting expertise will contribute to making your time aboard M/Y Majestic an exceptional and unique experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Captain is responsible for the safety and management of the yacht and its crew as well as the wellbeing and enjoyment of the owners, guest, and charterers. The captain ensures compliance with all safety procedures and regulations, as well as adherence to International Flag, Port State and local laws and regulations. The Captain has a close relationship with his crew to whom he provides leadership, guidance and support, while encouraging both teamwork and individual accountability.

Chief Officer | Malco Marchio – South African / Italian, 39
  
WORK EXPERIENCE:  Malco has been working on superyachts for more than 15 years, cruising the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Baltic and Pacific Oceans, and the North Sea.  He began his marine career in SCUBA diving, becoming a certified PADI dive instructor. Malco’s wealth of knowledge and experience, coupled with his charismatic and hardworking nature sees him leading the Majestic Deck Team with a strong focus on delivering a truly outstanding guest experience. 
  
WATERS CRUISED:  Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, Mediterranean, Baltic, North Sea, Bahamas and Caribbean.
    
RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Chief Officer manages the Deck Department, delegating duties to ensure the highest standards in the detailing and maintenance of the exterior areas, the tenders and deck equipment. He also supports the Captain and can assume command should the Captain be absent or incapacitated.  His other duties include being responsible for the ISPS and SMS protocol of the vessel and providing accurate chart work and passage planning.  When guests are on board, he participates in all deck operations and oversees all charter activities.

Second Officer | Alex Nichols – American, 34
  
WORK EXPERIENCE: Alex hails from the state of Oregon in the Pacific Northwest of the United States.  His passion for boating dates from an early age and he further developed his understanding of marine systems through eight years of services as an Officer of the United States Navy.  Alex brings state of the art maritime skills and a courageous spirit to the M/Y Majestic program.  
  
WATERS CRUISED: Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, Mediterranean, Caribbean, Yellow and East China Seas, as well as Sea of Japan.
  
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Second Officer is one of three underway watch keepers on board. His responsibilities include the creation and adherence to voyage plans, updating and maintenance of navigational publications and charts, and recordkeeping of official logs. The Second Officer is also the official rescue diver as well as a principal operator of tenders.

Bosun/Water Sports Coordinator | Evya Madar – Israel, 31
  
WORK EXPERIENCE: Eyva grew up in Israel, and with an interest in water sports he became a Certified Drive Instructor, working predominantly in the Red Sea. His love of the ocean naturally led him to thoughts of travel and a career in the yachting industry. 
Evya’s experience working on a variety of vessels allows him to lead Majestic’s deck team to an extremely high standard. With his meticulous work ethic, incredible attention to detail and friendly nature, Evya endeavours to make the owners and guests journey onboard a truly special one.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Bosun assists the Chief Officer and Captain in the daily operation of the vessel. Moreover, the Bosun is responsible for maintaining all the deck areas and ensure that all the recreational equipment is mechanically sound and cosmetically flawless.  Additional duties include bridge, harbor and anchor watches, guest service operations, administrative work, safety management and detailing, paintwork, and the repair and maintenance of all surfaces and equipment.  The Bosun is also the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) Wave Runner Training Instructor.

Deckhand | William Lekakis – Greek/British, 30
  
WORK EXPERIENCE: William grew up in Athens, Greece, and performed his National Military Service in Cyprus.  In 2014, after two years working as a Flight Supervisor, William turned to yachting with the intent of sharing his unique skills, fun personality and love of the ocean while visiting new countries and experiencing new cultures.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The Deckhand is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the exterior and technical spaces of the vessel following the standards and procedures set by the Captain, Chief Officer and Bosun. These duties include bridge watches, harbor watches, guest services and administrative work.  The Deckhand is an integral part of the Emergency Response Team on board.  He also assists with preparing, painting, repairing and maintaining all surfaces and equipment as well as the tender operations and all water sports activities.

WORK EXPERIENCE:  Growing up in Johannesburg, Sean has always been active, spending his youth on the rugby field and turning professional at age 19. He obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Education from the University of Johannesburg, and spent a year coaching rugby and teaching mathematics in South Africa. His love for fitness led him to study Personal Training, becoming a certified instructor in 2013. 
It was Sean’s interest in travel coupled with an active and energetic lifestyle that led him to the yachting industry. Sean has applied his love of water sports and his enthusiastic nature to providing guests with a fun and action-packed vacation.

Rotational Chief Engineer | David Tully – British, 36

WORK EXPERIENCE: After spending his youth tinkering with cars in his father’s garage, David changed direction from the road to the sea. He completed his Marine Engineer Apprenticeship in a shipyard in England and then pursued a career in yachting, where he has spent the last 15 years.  
A qualified Chief Engineer with a 3000-ton Certificate of Competency, David has also attained his Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) Chief Engineer Y2 qualification.  With his attention to detail and drive for perfection, David ensures that all engineering projects are completed to the highest level.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Chief Engineer is responsible for the operation, maintenance and repair of all mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment on board, including all machinery in the engine room, domestic equipment, bridge and deck equipment.  He works closely with the Second Engineer to maintain detailed, up-to-date logs of all equipment, engineering activities and critical systems as well as inventories of spare parts, technical consumables and tools.  In addition, he ensures adherence to International Flag, Port State and local laws and regulations regarding all aspects of engine room operations.

Rotational Chief Engineer | Thomas Miller – Antiguan/British, 34
  
WORK EXPERIENCE:  Tom spent much of his youth in his family’s engineering workshop in Antigua, where he developed skills in hydraulic engineering and mechanics. Outside the workshop, he could be found on the waters surrounding his home island - diving, fishing and sailing. So, it was no surprise that after completing his secondary education in the United Kingdom, Tom pursued a career in the yachting industry. 
A qualified Chief Engineer with more than 15 years of experience, Tom has worked on both sailing and motor yachts, as well as being part of three new-build projects. With a wealth of engineering knowledge and a hard-working ethic, Tom will ensure the efficient and effective running of all engineering operations on board Majestic.

Second Engineer | Kenny Tran – New Zealand, 28
  
WORK EXPERIENCE:  Born in Vietnam, Kenny moved to New Zealand with his family when he was 8 years old. Tech-savy from a young age, he spent much of his youth building computers and tinkering with audio visual equipment. Kenny’s initial training was in the aviation field, completing his Aircraft Engineering Apprenticeship with Air New Zealand, specialising in the Boeing 777 and the 787 Dreamliner. While traveling in Europe he was introduced to the yachting industry and he hasn’t looked back since. For the past 4 years Kenny has worked across a variety of vessels gaining experience and knowledge from working in diverse Engineering Departments. His most recent position was onboard Samadhi – Feadship’s sister ship to Majestic. With his solid technical and mechanical background, Kenny is an asset to the team and will be integral in the smooth running of everything engineering and audio-visual onboard M/Y Majestic.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The ETO/Engineer is ultimately responsible for engine room safety.  Working under the direction of the Chief Engineer, he manages and supervises the engine and technical equipment performing troubleshooting, repairs and overhauls, as needed, and maintains the engineering inventory.  He has advanced knowledge of all on board systems including the engines, generators, fuel transfer/polishing, watermakers, electrical equipment, refrigeration, air conditioning, AV/IT, hydraulics, sanitation systems and tenders.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Growing up in Australia, Marcus was influenced by many cultures and cuisines. Marcus completed his chef apprenticeship at the age of 15 and spent the following several years gaining experience and honing his skills at highly-rated restaurants. In his twenties, Marcus brought his experience and skills to Europe where he worked at various Michelin-starred restaurants. More recently, aboard luxury yachts, Marcus delights owners, guests, and charterers alike with his expansive repertoire, encompassing Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Asian cuisines.  He uses techniques to balance flavours with textures and creates elegant cuisine ranging from simple to extravagant.  With a welcoming smile, Marcus will fulfil your every preference and nutritional requirement to ensure you relish every bite of his culinary creations.

Sous Chef | Nick Harvey – British, 24
  
WORK EXPERIENCE:  Nick began his culinary career seven years ago, working as an apprentice under Michelin-starred Chef Adam Simmonds at the Danesfield House Restaurant in England. His natural talent in the kitchen saw him quickly progress to the Senior Chef de Partie, before moving to the prestigious Michelin two-star restaurant, Le Manoir. With five years of restaurant experience Nick entered the yachting industry, cooking on an 85m motor yacht. During the yacht’s world circumnavigation Nick was exposed to a wide variety of cuisines from different countries and cultures. Nick’s passion for International foods will tantalize and delight all your senses.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Angelica’s home country is Sweden. She has spent nearly 10 years in the yachting industry and during that time has garnered a wealth of knowledge and experience. Angelica launched her yachting career while studying Spanish in Barcelona. She has since established herself as an industry professional ensuring all guests are provided with the highest quality service.  Her leadership skills, hardworking nature and outgoing personality ensure your time on M/Y Majestic will be memorable.  Angelica is passionate about health and fitness and recently obtained a Diploma in Health Coaching and Nutrition.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The Chief Stewardess is responsible for the overall operation of the interior crew providing direction, guidance and supervision.  She maintains inventory of all service items and supplies and is in charge of provisioning the vessel for both, guests and crew. In addition, she handles the organization and management of all interior spaces and guest storage areas.  Her duties also include providing valet services, care of personal and speciality items, including guest valuables, and making arrangements for activities ashore.

WORK EXPERIENCE: Hailing from New Zealand, Michaela grew up around the water, spending her summers boating, fishing and diving. After completing degrees in both Arts and Business Michaela spent four years working in the marketing and advertising sector. While on a backpacking adventure in 2013, she was introduced to the world of yachting and hasn’t looked back since. Her experience in the industry on large motor and sailing yachts along with her positive and hardworking nature will ensure your stay on Majestic will be a wonderful one.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The second stewardess is responsible for housekeeping, laundry and meal and beverage services.  She works closely with the Chief Stewardess to ensure that guests are discretely cared for and provided with impeccable service, and maintains all guest areas, cabins, and other interior areas. She also handles the inventory and purchasing of crew uniforms.

At runway shows, beauty conventions and private resorts around the globe, including New York, Cannes and Florida, she put her skills as a top stylist and colorist to use, gaining valuable knowledge and experience. 
Eventually, Monique followed her passion for adventure to branch into the world of yachting. Monique’s central focus has been on delivering impeccable service and this will be evident as she endeavours to provide a wonderful vacation for owners, guests, and charterers aboard M/Y Majestic.

Her introduction to the yachting world began as a stewardess working onboard American Cruise Lines, cruising the East Coast of the United States. She earned a massage certification from the well-respected Trident Technical College and has more than eight years experience as a  Certified Massage Therapist, working at some of the most reputable spas and salons in South Carolina. Her  experience in the wellness industry and her warm and gentle personality will ensure you have a relaxed and carefree vacation.
